Duane DeSoto ~ Founder & PresidentDuane DeSoto was born and raised on the west side of O`ahu. He has traveled around the world for the last 16 years competing in contests. His love for the ocean and appreciation of the waterman lifestyle has nurtured his dream. His dream of giving back to his community came to fruition with the establishment of Nā Kama Kai. Duaneʻs passion for the ocean continues to sustain his lifestyle and allows him to engage in community building through Nā Kama Kaiʻs programs.

Mary Correa ~ Vice President
Mary Correa is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. She has a BA in Art and History from the University of Washington and a MA in Political Science from the University of Hawaii. Beyond her vast educational accomplishments, Mary has a deep sense of kuleana to the health and well being of her culture. She is a practitioner of lomilomi and lā`au lapa`au. Also recognizing the healing properties of the kai, Mary has been instrumental in the development of Nā Kama Kai since its inception.
